Short Description
The siberian bugseed can grow over half a metre high.
The leaves are elongated to linear and pointed. They grow singly and alternately.
The stem is branched at the base. The branches are mostly glabrous. However, they can also be hairy.
The flower heads are dense to strongly elongated.
The fruits are compressed and broadly ovoid. They are narrowly winged at the edge.

It grows on dry, sandy soils, e.g. on riverbanks, along railway lines and on inland dunes.

It flowers from July to September.
It is an annual plant. This means the plant dies in the first year after the seeds have ripened.
