Short Description
The common meadow-rue can grow up to two metres high.
The leaves are double to triple lobed (pinnate).
The stem is glabrous and slightly angular to cracked.
The flowers are brush-like and yellowish or greenish. They have long stamens. They grow in dense panicles and stand upright. They are fragrant.
The fruits are small nuts. They have six longitudinal ribs. Many fruitlets grow together.

In the city
The common meadow-rue grows on moorland meadows, at the edges of old watercourses and in ditches. It prefers moist, nutrient-rich and base-rich soils. It grows scattered and occurs mainly along rivers and in the lowlands.

The flowers are pollinated by the wind and by insects.
The fruits can fly with the wind or float in the water.
It lives for several years and generally flowers and fruits annually (perennial plant).
