Short Description
Meadow buttercup can grow to a height of one metre.
The leaves are close to the ground or alternate on the stem. Each leaf has three to five segments (leaflets).
The stem is generally highly branched.
The flowers have five yellow petals. The flower stalks are ungrooved.
The fruits are small roundish nuts.

In the city
In an urban environment, meadow buttercup is mainly found in meadows, pastures and along verges. It prefers moderately damp and nutrient-rich sites.
Fun Facts
It has a spicy taste and is thus avoided by foraging cattle.
In sensitive people, the plant can trigger meadow dermatitis.
It flowers from May to September.
It lives for several years and generally flowers and fruits annually (perennial plant).
