Short Description
The compact dock can grow up to 1.2 m high.
Many basal leaves with long stems grow at the base of the stem. They are mostly narrow arrow-shaped and up to 10 cm long.
The lateral branches are usually only richly branched in the upper area.
The individual flowers are reddish-brown and inconspicuous.
The small, hard fruits are triangular. They are green at first and later turn reddish brown.

In the city
Compact dock prefers dry to moderately fresh sites. In the city it is often found along roadsides and railway lines.

Compact dock is a perennial plant. It lives for several years, but flowers only once and dies after the seeds have ripened.
