Short Description
The willow warbler is small and rather inconspicuous. It has a greenish-brown upper side and a yellowish-white underside. It has a yellowish stripe above the eyes. The legs are light brown.

In the city
The willow warbler occurs in numerous habitats. In the city, it inhabits parks, cemeteries and gardens.
Fun Facts
The willow warbler starts singing 22 minutes before sunrise from April to June.
It is a migratory bird that moves to tropical and southern Africa at the end of September. From mid-April it can be seen again in Germany. Departure time and flight direction are innate.
The willow warbler builds its nest from moss and grass on the ground.
